Walter Yap brings over 30 years of experience to the guitar, bass, and ukulele. As both a seasoned performer and dedicated teacher, he co-founded Kanzen Guitar Academy with his son, Javier, to pass down not just skills, but a deep love for music.

Walter has been serving faithfully in his church band since 2002, and his playing is rooted in musicality, sensitivity, and heart. Students appreciate his calm, encouraging approach and the way he makes even complex concepts easy to grasp.

Whether you’re a brand new player or someone returning to music after years away, Walter meets you where you are — helping you grow through practical technique, focused guidance, and lots of patient support.
